On December 4th, Carly Cooke, a proud public servant and dedicated public school advocate, officially announced her candidacy for reelection as the Guilford County Commissioner for District 5. A resident of Guilford County for over 20 years and a proud graduate of UNC-Greensboro with a degree in Business and an MBA, Cooke has spent her first term focused on significant funding increases for Guilford County Schools - including pay raises for teachers, principals, and classified staff, progress on 2020 and 2022 school bond projects, supporting small business and economic growth, and expanding access to critical resources and services for Guilford County residents.

“In my time as a Commissioner, we have made essential progress for our public schools, seen significant economic growth, and have worked to connect more Guilford County residents to the services they need to succeed.
